Liquidation Sale

Linda and I are very sad to announce that with the end of our lease we will be closing our  2 Scrappy Sisters storefront this coming Saturday, August 30,2008.  We will continue our online store and plan to have our crops on a regular basis and a regular retreat a few times a year. I know this will be a shock to a lot of you and we struggled on what was the best way to break the news. There is no good way to announce Sad News, even as I write this email to you now I can't come up with the words to express how hard and disappointing this is for Linda and I. We hate to shut the doors on a store we have loved and nurtured as hard as we possibly could. Getting to know all of you and becoming your friends has been a true joy to Linda and I. We really enjoyed sharing our family stories with you (even if I was too loud and crazy at times). It is our heartfelt hope that you all will follow us to our Crops and Retreats, we can't bear loosing touch with all of you. This was all kind of sudden for us also, so we don't have the future planned out as well as we would have liked to. We still love scrapbooking and designing so we are moving forward just not with a storefront. We are planning to have teachers offer classes at crops and retreats and we will sell product, cardstock and new papers there also. (I quess we will be 2 Gypsy Sisters now) We plan to still have the Special Kids Parties and I will still be designing new Page Kits. We have a new website  www.scrappysisterskits.com where you can keep in touch with us and buy kits. (I am still working on the website so bear with me  on that one)   We have tried to think of everything we can to make this a smooth exit, but I am sure we have missed something. You can email us anytime at scrappysistersks@yahoo.com or call the store 913-788-2767 with further questions.

If you have a gift certificate we will honor it in the store this week or you can use it on our online store after this week. We will also honor them on crops and retreats.

Our retreat, which is planned for September 12-14, is still taking place but will be moved to the Holiday Inn Express (behind IHOP) at I435 and I70. (Actually, it is even cooler than the original hotel AND they have maid service) They have given us rooms together and at the end so we can have a pajama party!  We have great prizes and a lot of fun planned so comd and lets PARTY!!

September Classes will be held but we are looking for a location and may need to change the dates and times of the classes. We will let you know about these changes.

If you have purchased the spotlight for this year you can expect to receive the last four by mail in late October.

We are still going to have the Sisterhood Party in January, so keep your cards and any classes and retreats we have from now to the end of December still count. The doors may be closing but the Sisterhood goes on!

Now last but now least--------the Liquidation Sale. (now that perked your ears up didn't it?)

A letter from the Scrappy Sisters
Linda and I thought 2008 would be a calmer year than our first year-- boy were we wrong. Bam! Right off the get go in January we were offered the opportunity to move
to a new location right next door. We fell in love with the unique layout next door and instantly we could see how it would fit our vision for the store, so we jumped at the opportunity. We said OK and were completely moved into the new location in ONE weekend! We still have a lot we want to do, but we are very happy in our new cozy location. We feel it is homier (is that a word?) and everyone remarks how much more spacious they feel it is, in fact we have had nothing but good feedback. Not only did we totally move the store, but we also hosted our biggest crop- the Appreciation Crop for the Premier Scrappy Club Members. Now that was a blast!! Linda and I wore can-cans (the huge ones the square dancers wear) over our stretch pants (I know its hard to get a visual on that one) with trims of real fur and tons of BLING! We were a sight to behold-(a BIG site). The theme was Shabby Chic, so many also wore their finery and bling to the party. We held a Royal Coronation where everyone was inducted in the Scrappy Scrappy Sisterhood and awarded silver charm bracelets with charms according to the level they had attained during the year. (We hope to see all of you at next years party, so read the details in this newsletter.) Also in January , my home was hit hard by the terrible Ice Storm and I was without heat or electricity for over a week. That really slowed down my progress and made me very thankful for all I take for granted. We flew into February immediately running to the CHA convention in California. We really had a great time at the convention this year. We not only bought the product we intended, but we also took a lot of time to learn about techniques and new products and even found some great new lines of papers we LOVE , like the Graphic 45 line and the silver jewelry that is soon to be delivered to the store. Linda, Ali and I all stood and watched Tim Holtz for a very long time and I can’t wait to become certified and learn one on one with him. I also learned how to color pencil antique stamped images –which I also hope to have classes on very soon. Linda met Melissa Francis and they chatted together like long lost buddies . I talked Vendor’s into signing the white shirt I was wearing with their name and booth number in trade for their product—now that was a hoot and quite a conversation piece. Here we are mid March and planning for the next quarter and WOW is it going to be exciting!  Beginning with our first “Scrappers Gone Wild Retreat” April 18-20. These next three months are filled with great classes, workshops and special events, so bring your friends and family members and join us. We look forward to seeing all of you soon.
