A letter from the Scrappy Sisters
Linda and I thought 2008 would be a calmer year than our first year-- boy were we wrong. Bam! Right off the get go in January we were offered the opportunity to move
to a new location right next door. We fell in love with the unique layout next door and instantly we could see how it would fit our vision for the store, so we jumped at the opportunity. We said OK and were completely moved into the new location in ONE weekend! We still have a lot we want to do, but we are very happy in our new cozy location. We feel it is homier (is that a word?) and everyone remarks how much more spacious they feel it is, in fact we have had nothing but good feedback. Not only did we totally move the store, but we also hosted our biggest crop- the Appreciation Crop for the Premier Scrappy Club Members. Now that was a blast!! Linda and I wore can-cans (the huge ones the square dancers wear) over our stretch pants (I know its hard to get a visual on that one) with trims of real fur and tons of BLING! We were a sight to behold-(a BIG site). The theme was Shabby Chic, so many also wore their finery and bling to the party. We held a Royal Coronation where everyone was inducted in the Scrappy Scrappy Sisterhood and awarded silver charm bracelets with charms according to the level they had attained during the year. (We hope to see all of you at next years party, so read the details in this newsletter.) Also in January , my home was hit hard by the terrible Ice Storm and I was without heat or electricity for over a week. That really slowed down my progress and made me very thankful for all I
take for granted. We flew into February immediately running to the CHA convention in California. We really had a great time at the convention this year. We not only bought the product we intended, but we also took a lot of time to learn about techniques and new products and even found some great new lines of papers we LOVE , like the Graphic 45 line and the silver jewelry that is soon to be delivered to the store. Linda, Ali and I all stood and watched Tim Holtz for a very long time and I can’t wait to become certified and learn one on one with him. I also learned how to color pencil antique stamped images –which I also hope to have classes on very soon. Linda met Melissa Francis and they chatted together like long lost buddies . I talked Vendor’s into signing the white shirt I was wearing with their name and booth number in trade for their product—now that was a hoot and quite a conversation piece. Here we are mid March and planning for the next quarter and WOW is it going to be exciting!  Beginning with our first “Scrappers Gone Wild Retreat” April 18-20. These next three months are filled with great classes, workshops and special events, so bring your friends and family members and join us. We look forward to seeing all of you soon.
